Krystal Hewitt-Schofield
For the last 3 years, her family has needed a new roof but medical issues have prevented them from saving money. Her husband had a heart attack, she had rotator cuff surgery and back surgeries, and their nephew (4-year-old organ recipient) spent the summer in hospital with pneumonia. Their roof won’t last another year and they haven’t had funds due to medical expenses.
Bruce Seal
Bruce raised Christian as his son, guided him through college, and continues to be a father figure. Bruce opens his home to those in need, supplies food to nurses, donates to YES center, and helps drivers having bad days. He and his wife are seniors dealing with dangerous roof leaks from multiple locations causing structural damage. His wife has cancer and mobility issues, making it difficult to manage the home maintenance.
Shirley Huges
Shirley is a disabled single senior whose benefits don’t allow for roof replacement. She’s known for her volunteer work, sharing food and helping others despite her struggles. She raised her kids alone, went into debt for medical care for her son’s bone marrow transplant, and continues to help others even while struggling herself.
